This event was held on Wednesday 30 May 2012 and entitled, “It Won’t Happen to Me: Cybercrime Myths and Misconceptions”. In looking at cybercrime, Alana Maurushat, Cyberspace Law and Policy Centre UNSW, highlighted research at UNSW.
Ken Gamble, Executive Chairman, Internet Fraud Watchdog, talked about emerging trends and the implications for everyone. Mike Taylor, Managing Editor, Money Management, gave a personal insight into how business copes with an attack from nowhere. Detective Inspector Bruce van der Graaf, Fraud and Cybercrime Squad, NSW Police Force, outlined their work in detecting, intercepting and preventing internet fraud and piracy.
